This project gives the preparatory training students at Keskuspuisto Vocational College an opportunity to take part in international activities both abroad and in Finland. The aim of the project is to give young people new experiences and to strengthen their self-confidence and independence. The students get to familiarize themselves with a new culture and its customs, improve their language skills and open up their view of the world.
The opening meeting for the project was held in the autumn of 2013 in Turkey. Student exchanges began in the spring of 2014 with eight preparatory training students traveling to York, England, and continued in the autumn of 2014 when an international activity week was held at Keskuspuisto Vocational College. The last group of exchange students will travel to the Czech Republic in the spring of 2015.
The project partners are Hasan Tahsin Özel Eðitim Mesleki Eðitim Merkezi (Okulu) in Izmir, Turkey, The Church of England Children's Society in York, England and Handy Club Ostrava in the Czech Republic. The project has been funded by the Grundtvig program of the Center for International Mobility (CIMO).
